This, my friends, is what happens when proud (or maybe just lazy) History majors put off taking a basic gen-ed history course… You get stuck having to study so you can CLEP out of it.
Luckily, I’ve had upper-division courses that cover about 75% of the material on the test, so I’m pretty good there. My weakness? The “Middle Ages,” that wonderful, 1000-ish year span (depending on who you ask) of ever-changing political borders. I’ll be spending the next couple of weeks sorting through popes and kings (was EVERYBODY named Charles or Henry or Phillip!?) and trying to get a basic grasp of all the wars and political geography shifts .
The good news? I took a practice pre-test before doing any studying, and I passed, though just barely.
Remind me not to procrastinate in the future.
